Fall is here!  Finally...

It's been a while since the last update, we didn't have any news for a while and now I guess we have quite a bit!

We have found our wedding location..that is the biggest news!  It is absolutely perfect.  We were able to turn our very short visit to Boston into a mini vacation.  We were able to visit some family and do a small amount of sight seeing as well.  So the date is set, the plans are flowing...finally...:-)

Please check out the news page for more of the events of the last month!

As always please let me know if you have any problems with photos, links or if you just want to say hi!

So yes, the wedding venue has been decided!  Vinny and I took a very short trip to Boston a couple weekends back to look at a few places in person.  As people close to me know…I’m very picky and fairly non-traditional.  I spent 6 months, at least, looking online for reception locales that would fit our style.  I didn’t want a hotel reception, I didn’t want mauve swags of fabric or flowers on the carpet.  You would think that would be easy to find….um no.

I found the ECC a few months back and fell in love.  I knew the second I found it that no other place would compare, I just hoped it was in our price range and available for our date. We looked at 5 places total that weekend and ECC blew the others out of the water.  It is SOOOO perfect!  First of all, the coordinator’s name is Alison, that was the first sign that this place has good taste ;-).  Secondly, it’s on the water…now I know that doesn’t impress everyone, but believe me, when you are from land locked Idaho the ocean is the most amazing thing ever, it never ceases to amaze me.  Finally, the inside is so gorgeous, it is exactly what I wanted.  Hardwood floors, neutral colors, and just a little on the modern side.  The food is also supposed to be excellent.  Legal Seafood's is the in-house caterer and I’m sure that dinner will be tasty.  I cannot wait.

The colors have been picked out for the moment, don't ask in 5 minutes, it might've changed.  For some reason its easier for me to describe the colors in fruit.  Raspberry, mango, plum and a hint of lime or to common folk, fuchsia, orange, purple and bright green.  See how much prettier it sounds in fruit terms? There will also be a large amount of black and white because I just love it.  I’m sure some of you can imagine that and some of you can’t.  Trust me, it’ll be pretty.  Enough wedding chatter….I could go on for days, just ask poor Vinny J

Qwest didn’t go on strike, thank goodness, it was up to the very last minute and they even worked a few days without a contract but all is well now.  Best thing that came out of the whole ordeal was Vinny getting a raise!  I guess all that stressing paid off in the end.

Vinny’s parents, Andrea and Vincent, arrived a couple weeks ago for a visit.  They drove from Florida to Minnesota and plan on staying just a few more days.  It’s been nice seeing them again and coming home to a hot dinner ;-). We are planning a *very* short trip to Mt Rushmore this weekend and I can’t wait.  Vinny and I have been there before but it’s one of those things I could see again and again and be impressed (kinda like the ocean).  I’ll post pics as soon as we get back.

Vinny and I also attended an event in Northfield, MN about 3 weeks ago that is called, ‘The Defeat of Jesse James’, aka, Jesse James Days.  It was a lot of fun, car show, food, carnival and lastly a re-enactment of the defeat of Jesse James. Check out the pictures and here is the website if you would like to learn more about it. http://www.djjd.org/lmth/bankraid.html

Until next time….
