On Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005, Vinny and I got off work early, we had a highly anticipated 5 day weekend ahead of us. The following day was my 25th birthday. As we arrived home Vinny went to check the mail as I greeted the 'kids' in the kitchen. I was so pleasantly surprised to see Vinny walk in the door with a huge bouquet of beautiful purple flowers. I was so sure the flowers were from my mom, as she sends flowers to me for all sorts of holidays. I was enjoying the flowers and opening the attached card that read: Happy Birthday My Love, We have a full 5 days to pick out the gift you really want, Vinny. I was so thrilled that the flowers were from Vinny and as I turned to hug and thank him I saw the man of my dreams on his knee and he asked me to marry him. I, of course, said YES and started to cry. I'm officially the happiest woman in the world.
Vinny and I went ring shopping the following day. We went to the 500 jewelers at the mall, not so impressed. We ended up at Lee Read Jewelers (highly recommended). We chose the most perfect ring for me. I can't imagine anything more perfect for wearing everyday for the rest of my life.
We have no plans yet, we are going to just enjoy being engaged and save money for the wedding I've always wanted. We also have a location situation since our families are literally cross country from each other but we are coming up with ideas everyday! As soon as we have any plans I will let everyone know.
