July 14th Update

Welcome home to Anthony!  We are so thankful to have him home healthy.  Hopefully he can visit us soon, we are closer now!  AND...CONGRATULATIONS!!  Anthony asked Kathy to marry him this past week and a wedding is planned for January 2006 in Florida.  It's Andrea's turn now ;-)

Happy July!  Things are going well for Vinny and I.  It’s nice to have my things back again; our house is feeling like home more and more everyday.  I added some new pictures (house, kids, the drive, etc), check them out!

I also changed the picture layout AGAIN.  I don’t know why I ever changed it from the original but someday I’ll find something I just love.  I think I’m going to try to learn a new application to publish with, FrontPage is great for beginners but it is limiting.  We’ll see….don’t hold your breath.

Check out the news page, I’ll go on and on there and spare some folks ;-)

NEWS

Well kids...I made it.  Vinny flew to Boise on a Friday evening and we packed up the car with my remaining items, Charlie, and Britney and off we went.  The trip wasn't as bad in a car compared to the moving truck towing a car.  The animals did great, Britney was a little upset right at first and again about 12 hours into the trip but we just turned the radio up and ignored her.  Just Kidding.  I  just stuck my finger in her kennel and let her rub her face and bite me.  We arrived in about 21.5 hours.  Then off to work on Monday.  Tight weekend but it wasn't as bad as either of us expected.

The first week we are sitting on the couch, its storming, but I've come to realize this is normal.  I'm watching my shows recorded on the TIVO and I hear sirens.  These aren't like ambulance sirens, but I can't really say I've heard any emergency vehicle sirens in Minnesota, maybe they sound that way?? So I poke my head out the door and I hear the sirens throughout the city.  Now that's a bad sign.  I turn on Live TV and guess what?  TORNADO headed right for Burnsville. YIKES!  So we watch the news a bit, I start seriously getting freaked out.  Vinny is his normal calm self.  He is like, it's ok, just find a radio and a flash light.  RIIIGHT.  I don't know where my shoes are in this new house, let alone a radio AND a flashlight??  AHHHH!  I eventually located a radio and a flashlight.  Once we lost the TV signal we took the laptop, the cat, the dog, some pillows and off to the haven bathroom like the news told us we should do.  We sat in the bathroom watching the weather radar on the laptop until we were in the clear.  Turns out a tornado never touched down in Burnsville.  And as my 4 year old neighbor so graciously informed me, the hill in front of our house saves us from storms.  Boy is she right!

On another note, my new job is good.  I've learned that I hate being new at things, learning new things is great but being totally lost is another thing.  It's my 3rd week and things are getting better, I was assigned actual work, lets just hope I can pull it off.  I'm not used to being treated like a normal person at work.  I just keep expecting a walky talky and Captain Quick Care to turn the corner.

For the 4th of July Vinny and I went to Minneapolis to watch the fireworks on the river.  We went early so we could walk around a bit, get a decent parking spot and seat for the show.  We had a good time, some very cool buildings and some interesting people to watch.  The fireworks were great and the weather was perfect.  July 23rd there is another fireworks show for the Aquatennial Festival and it claims to be the 4th biggest display in the US.  We'll see.....

Vinny and I spent the weekend hanging pictures, finally, and putting the last items away.  No signs of boxes, the house feels homey and lived in.  I posted pictures of the outside and some indoor ones too for those interested.  Maybe it'll entice you guys to visit!!

Speaking of visitors, Vinny's 'Boston Boys' are coming to visit August 5-7.  Sean, Rajib, Zac and Sean will be arriving Friday evening and heading back to Boston on Sunday afternoon.  I'll be outnumbered for sure, the only female anywhere near will be the transsexual cat.  It should be a ton of fun, Vinny and I are both excited.  Plans to visit the MOA (Mall of America), Red Sox vs. Twins game, and any other activity we feel up to.

Until next time.....
