Happy August! The 'Boston Boys' have come and gone. Hopefully they had as much fun as Vinny and I did. I updated the 'News' section with our weekend activities and of course, pictures.
The wedding planning is back on the front burner. I wouldn't say the burner is on 'high', but at this moment in time we are planning on May 2006 in Boston. We are hoping we can make a trip there in September to pick a location, the rest I can manage over the internet.
Qwest's current contract with the CWA is due to expire August 13th. If negotiations aren't met by midnight it's possible that Vinny will have to go on strike and I will have to start working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week...ugh... This will obviously postpone our trip to Boston and any other wedding planning. We'll keep you updated.

Vinny and I took a small day trip down the Mississippi River and across the border to Wisconsin a couple weekends ago. We traveled along this great county road that trailed the river and took us through touristy towns. We drove through Pepin, WI, which is where Laura Ingalls Wilder was born and wrote her novels about, Lake City, MN, which claims to be where water skiing was invented and we also drove through Wabasha, MN where Grumpy Old Men was filmed. Our destination was Alma, WI. It is just a great small river town with a lock and dam and great scenery. Above the town is Buena Vista State Park that we drove to with FABULOUS views of the Mississippi and Alma. Check out the pictures...we had a great time. I think I almost convinced my city boy that the country isn't so bad ;-)
This past weekend we had a full house. Sean, Sean, Rajib and Zac came from Boston to visit. They arrived Friday morning and Vinny gave the boys a tour of MOA Friday afternoon and after I got off work I met the boys at White Castle (barf). We headed to the Metrodome to watch Red Sox vs Twins. This was my first professional sport event ever so I was just excited to be there. Everyone else's excitement turned to disappointment after Boston lost 12-0. Sigh...I am happy to say that I was in the same room as Johnny Damon though. After the game we came home and played Trivial Pursuit 90's Edition which was so much entertainment. Sean O. came from behind and whooped us all. Saturday we headed to the city and had lunch, played video games for a few hours and walked down by the river just taking in the sites of the city. Saturday night we ended up at the casino near our house, the boys all walked out ahead at least $100.00. Not bad to get paid for a night of fun huh? Sunday we had big plans to see some more sites but ended up with only time for breakfast. The weekend was short but we enjoyed every minute we had. It was great to get to know the boys a little more and Vinny loved seeing his buddies again.
Until next time...
