Hello everyone! Guess what?! We are Minnesota homeowners!! We close on September 29th. Things went very fast but we found a gem and couldn't pass it up. More details on the news page and also I have added pictures. Andrea and Ally made their first visit to the mid-west and we had a great time, more details and pictures on that too! The contact page is updated with our new address. Now go check out the news page and the gallery! Love you!!! |
So we bought a house. It all started with this foreclosure I found in our neighborhood. We went to look at it and needless to say it was DISGUSTING! Mold covered the ENTIRE basement. The realtor that showed us the house sent us some more listings...we looked at them. Vinny and I then found a house we liked in a city near us. We knew we liked it more than others and hoped when we saw it in person we would be as impressed. Turns out we did like it. We saw it last Sunday along with 5 other houses and decided to make an offer.
The house is in amazing condition. It has never ever ever been updated but tip top shape. As our inspector said, "this house has good bones, just an ugly outfit." And that about sums it up perfectly. The owners loved their home and it shows. Vinny and I cant wait to take as good of care of it as they did.
Some basics about the house...2239 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 1.75 bath, family room, living room, 3 season patio, finished basement with recreation room and huge utility room. Walk out basement, 2 fireplaces, refinished hardwood floors throughout most of the top floor. Oh and almost most importantly...6.8 miles from work! Enjoy the pictures....and wait for the 'After' shots!
Andrea and Ally came for a week in early August. We were not able to take time off of work but we spent some good quality time with the girls after work. They occupied themselves at the MOA while we were at work! We showed the girls the Twin Cities, went to the Body Worlds exhibit at the Science Museum, and a short weekend trip to Duluth. We had a really good time. We miss them already!
I'm at a loss for what other news we have. The house has officially taken over my brain. I cant think of anything else!
We are celebrating a lot of birthdays in September that I will be missing out on. (Apparently January is a 'busy' month!)
Sep 14th - Andrea's Birthday!
Sep 19th - Ashley turns 21 (woot!)
Sep 22nd - Grandma's Birthday!
Sep 28th - Hilary's Birthday!
Sep 29th - Pattie's Birthday!
Congrats to Ashley and Andrea for heading back to school. Tis the season I suppose. Anthony is doing well, we are counting down to him coming home. He was "lucky" to be able to visit Lebanon for a short time. We all look forward to his stories of his true home. Hopefully someday things will be peaceful again so we can all visit.
That's all for now....
Until Next time...
